V1 Verifier's Award
The V1 award is aimed at occupationally competent individuals who wish to verify assessments made by Assessors who are assessing learners working to achieve National Vocational Qualifications. The role of the Internal Verifier is essential as the internal Verifier ensures the assessment carried out by others meets the agreed national standards and requirements vof the Awarding Bodies.

How long to complete the course
The award will be delivered in a number of ways, including workshops and self-study, and is outlined below. A 2 day workshop which requires some specific pre-work with your learners and sets out the following:
- An overview of QCF Diploma levels
- Assessment methods
- Planning for assessment
- Recording assessment decisions
- Feedback techniques
- Appeals and complaints � processes and procedures
- Quality assurance
You will then have opportunity to put into practice all you have learned during the following 6-weeks before attending: a 1-day workshop to review your progress, share experiences, discusses best practice and undertake preparation for the assessment plan.
The assessment plan will be agreed between you and your UCTD direct assessor who will be provide ongoing support throughout the process through on-line and telephone support to ascertain progress with activity in the plan and give support as appropriate.
What does the V1 Award give me?
The award will be delivered in a number of ways, including workshops and self-study, and is outlined below.
On successful completion you will have achieved the certificate in Conducting Quality Assurance of the Assessment Process (V1 � Vocational Assessor Award). This Award qualifies you to internally verify NVQ and NVQ related courses. This unit also contributes towards NVQs in the following Level 4 qualifications, as an optional Unit:
- Learning and Development
- Management of learning and development provision and
- Co-ordination of Learning and Development Provision
The V1 qualification is transferable into any area of employment, and is seen as one of the most senior qualifications within vocational qualifications.
