This course is designed to provide accreditation for the skills developed by learners following the Adult Literacy & Numeracy Curriculum at Entry Level. Students can be assessed at Entry 1, Entry 2 or Entry 3.

The Adult Literacy course has three units which cover; Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing. Students can be assessed at Entry 1, Entry 2 or Entry 3.
The OCR Entry Level Certificate in Adult Numeracy is part the OCR suite of basic skills qualifications. The other qualifications in the suite are Adult Literacy and ICT Skills for Life.
Students who wish to further develop their knowledge and understanding at Entry Level and who wish to use their achievements in a wider context, may be able to progress to the OCR Entry Level Certificates in a variety of vocational areas such as Adult Numeracy, ICT Skills for Life, Retail, Manufacturing or Job Seeking Skills.
OCR Cert in Literacy (available at Levels 1 & 2)
Is a nationally recognised qualification for basic skills at Levels 1 and 2 of the National Qualifications Framework. This qualification is approved for use by 16-19 learners and adults. The qualification has also received Section 96 approval for use by Key Stage 4 pupils who are assessed by their schools as needing access to a wider range of certification in Key Stage 4 alongside the usual GCSE in English. The qualification aims to develop candidates' ability to apply communication skills in a range of familiar contexts and situations.

The qualification has also received Section 96 approval for use by Key Stage 4 pupils who are assessed by their schools as needing access to a wider range of certification in Key Stage 4 alongside the usual GCSE in Mathematics. The qualification aims to develop candidates' ability to apply numeracy skills in a range of familiar contexts and situations.
To gain certification at levels 1 and 2 candidates must pass an external test. These are multiple choice tests that are externally set by QCA and marked by OCR.
