QCF Diploma Levels in Child Care
QCF Diploma in Child Care is a vocational qualification which confirms that a candidate is competent to national standards both in theory and practice to senior carer / supervisory level.
The programme consists of units of competence, which need to be achieved in order to obtain the full qualification. The programme is didvided into classroom sessions covering each of the units individually. A unit will be achieved when the candidate has successfully demonstrated competence in both the theory and practical aspect of the unit.

For those candidates who are not legible to access National Apprenticeship Services, we offer discounted prices for QCF Diploma levels 1, 2 and 3.
How long to complete the course
QCF Diploma is candidate led, meaning that it depends on the progress made by the candidate. However, the course is programmed to be completed in four months minimum or twelve months maximum.
QCF Diploma Level 1
Level 1 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Caring for Children.
These qualifications encourage an understanding of the knowledge and skills neede to care for young children. They cover children's growth, learning and development. There are also units to help with self-development
Parents and volunteers wishing to participate in the provision made by early years environments, such as pre-schools. In some circumstances it might also be appropriate for learners engaging in Foundation Learning.
QCF Diploma Level 2
Level 2 Certificate for Children and Young People's Workforce.
This qualification is designed to help learners build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in children’s setting including early years and social care.
QCF Diploma Level 3
Level 3 Diploma for the Chidren and Young People's Workforce.
This qualification is designed to help learners build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas and is spilt into three pathways:
• Early Learning and Childcare
• Children’s Social Care
• Learning and Development
Support Services.
In addition it contains an optional unit ‘Understand how to set up a home based child care service’ which can be taken as a stand alone unit for those who wish to become registered childminders.
It is the only QCF Level 3 qualification conferring occupational competence for the children and young people’s workforce in England.
Level 2 Qualification
Learners should be at least 16 years old. CACHE does not set any other entry requirements but Centres may have their own guidelines.
Level 2 Qualification
All those who wish to work or are working in a supervised role in the children and young people’s workforce in Wales and Northern Ireland.
Learners should be at least 16 years old. CACHE does not set any other entry requirements but Centres may have their own guidelines.
Level 3 Qualification
All those who wish to work, or are working at a un-supervised level in the children and young people’s workforce in England.
