Apprenticeships are designed with the help of the employers, and we offer a structured programme that takes you through the skills you need to do a job well. There are targets and checks to make sure that your employer is supporting you and you are making progress.

As an employee you will be in employment for most of your time as most training takes place on the job. The rest usually takes place at the centre. You can complete this off-the-job training on day release or over a number of days in a block. The amount of time you spend varies according to your Apprenticeship. It could be anything from one day every other fortnight to two days every week. So all the things you study will be useful in your job and help you succeed in your future career.

NCFE is recognised as an awarding organisation by the qualification regulators ('regulators') for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The regulators are the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) in Wales and the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland.

IVA Limited

Ultimate Care Training and Development (UCTD) is a member of IVA. IVA began as a response to widespread expressions of interest from S/NVQ centres’ staff and awarding bodies’ external verifiers. They wanted the establishment of a practitioner-led independent body, funded by members’ subscriptions, which would keep Assessors and Verifiers in touch with developing practice and one another.

Eco Step Award

UCTD has received an award from Eco Step Award. EcoStep offers Middlesex University accredited recognition for organisations evaluating and improving their environmental performance. This award is based upon a system of self-assessment; whereby organisations evaluate themselves and provide evidence of their performance to the assessing body (CESMB). Once the assessment passes the criteria of the award and demonstrates the organisation’s continued improvement of their environmental performance, the organisation will be issued with a Certificate of Environmental Commitment along with the use of the award logo.

UCTD is a member of LDA.
